Southern Orthopaedic Surgeons is Hiring a MID-LEVEL PROVIDER Near Montgomery, AL

  • Performs comprehensive and problem focused history and physical exams.
  • Interprets subjective and objective data to formulate an assessment and plan.
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic tests such as X-rays, MRIs, and lab work.
  • Orders, prescribes, and dispenses medications, orthosis, orthotics, braces and other devices allowed.
  • Participates in daily patient rounds and documenting notes.
  • Performs joint and bursa aspirations, closed reduction of fractures and dislocations, injections of joints, tendons, trigger points and bursa as well as brace, cast and splint applications.
  • Assists in surgery as first assistant on all surgical cases with assigned physician including deep and superficial tissue closures, applications for appliances and any other action delegated by the surgeon.
  • Completes electronic preop lab orders.
  • Takes call with orthopedic surgeon on weekdays and weekends as assigned.
  • Maintains familiarity with and abides by the policies and procedures.
  • Participates in appropriate clinical meetings to ensure continuum of care.
  • Maintains memberships and activity within relevant professional organizations.
  • Must be able to set priorities and provide direction to others that is clear, concise, and promotes efficiency.
  • Regularly access internal and external resources to maintain professional knowledge base.
  • Annual completion of specified competencies and in-services.
  • Respects patients’ right to privacy, dignity, and confidentiality and will provide a safe and supportive patient atmosphere.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor or providers.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Professional certified registered nurse practitioner or physician assistant licensure required.

Education

Required
  • Masters or better in Nursing or related field

  • Family Nurse Prac Cert.
  • Cert. Physician Asst.
