I Have A Dream Foundation Atlanta is Hiring an Operations Assistant Near Milwaukee, WI

ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW

“I Have A Dream” Foundation - Milwaukee (IHDF-MKE) provides individualized social, emotional, and academic support to students from historically marginalized communities from first grade to first job, along with guaranteed post-secondary tuition support.

IHDF-MKE has recently launched a new cohort in partnership with the Milwaukee Academy of Science, with an intensive and intentional focus on supporting not only “Dreamers” (youth served by “I Have A Dream” Foundation), but also their families, through intergenerational wrap-around support to help bridge equity and resource gaps, and promote stability, well-being, and thriving.

JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Operations Assistant - Part-Time

  • Position Mission: To optimize administrative processes and assist in completing administrative tasks that allow the team more capacity for impact; while also supporting external communications that mobilize stakeholders and effectively share the IHDF-MKE story.
  • Overview: Join our team as a part-time Operations Assistant to play a pivotal role in optimizing administrative processes, fostering efficient communication, and supporting various initiatives for Dreamers and their families at I Have a Dream Foundation - Milwaukee. The position encompasses a broad range of responsibilities across communications, administration, fund development, and impact support.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Administrative:

  • Support meeting scheduling and confirmation for the Executive Director and leadership team.
  • Take meeting notes and assist with report-outs.
  • Handle inventory management and ordering for both program and office supplies.
  • Assist in printing and collating marketing materials and meeting packets.
  • Manage basic vendor relations, including researching and obtaining quotes.
  • Support presentation creation and data collection/reporting.
  • Manage databases and provide training for staff, volunteers, and as needed.
  • Support data entry.
  • Assist with grant reporting and bookkeeping tasks.
  • Streamline operational processes for increased efficiency.
  • Conduct research assignments as required.
  • Provide support for fund development activities, including grant calendar management, writing support, donor acknowledgment, and event planning

Communications:

  • Coordinate and co-create regular newsletters for families and stakeholders.
  • Assist in the creation of impactful organizational reports.
  • Manage social media strategy, content creation, and engagement.
  • Update and maintain website content.
  • Support basic outreach efforts to families.
  • Support the creation and administration of needs, impact, and satisfaction-focused surveys
  • Manage event invitations, reminders, and RSVP tracking.
  • Contribute to donor outreach and appreciation efforts.

Impact:

  • Assist in creating and maintaining a portrait of Dreamers through interviews and photo records.
  • Contribute to the creation of an annual organization yearbook.
  • Support alumni relations through outreach and tracking.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS/FIT:

This role requires a detail-oriented and organized individual possessing the capacity to manage diverse responsibilities effectively.

Familiarity with existing IHDF-MKE systems is advantageous (e.g. Salesforce, Google Workspace, Little Green Light).

Comfort working in a variety of communications platforms (e.g. various social media, Canva, Mailchimp, GMail) preferred.

Previous administrative experience and/or relevant post-secondary education (e.g. communications, business administration) is strongly preferred.

Task-oriented self-starter driven to make a difference.

OTHER DETAILS

  • Location: This is a part-time hybrid position with work onsite at the IHDF-MKE office and/or partner school location expected during team “anchor days” as well as opportunities to work on projects remotely.
  • Hours: 15 - 20/week
  • Wage: $20/hour
