The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the venture capital industry, with a strong foundation in accounting and finance. This role is pivotal in supporting the Controller and CFO in managing financial operations, reporting, and compliance for the firm and its funds.Responsibilities: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP, with a focus on venture capital-specific reporting requirements.Assist in the preparation of detailed management reports, investor reports, and financial presentations tailored to the needs of venture capital stakeholders.Conduct thorough variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance, emphasizing portfolio company metrics and fund performance.Maintain accurate accounting records for multiple venture capital funds, ensuring timely and accurate capital calls, distributions, and fund expense management.Oversee the accounting treatment for portfolio company investments, including valuations, fair value adjustments, and monitoring of investment performance.Coordinate with portfolio companies to gather and analyze financial data, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.Support the annual audits and tax filings for the firm and its venture capital funds, liaising with external auditors and tax advisors.Ensure compliance with venture capital industry regulations and internal policies, implementing best practices for financial controls.Assist in the development and maintenance of internal control procedures specific to venture capital operations.Collaborate with the finance team to streamline processes and improve operational efficiencies, leveraging venture capital industry knowledge.Support the Controller in ad-hoc projects and initiatives, including new fund launches, portfolio company transactions, and financial modeling.Manage relationships with external service providers, including fund administrators, auditors, and tax advisors, ensuring seamless coordination.
