POSITION SUMMARY

Provide timely, accurate, gracious and friendly service while preparing the highest quality beverages for our guests. Anticipate guests needs and respond with genuine old fashioned hospitality and a sense of urgency. Create great memories for our guests as an ambassador of good will for Saint and Second. Provide friendly, gracious and responsive service to create a memorable dining experience for all of our guests. Know and follow the Service Standards. Bartenders will be experts in the proper service and understanding of food, wine and spirits.

REQUIREMENTS

• Be 21 years of age or older
• Minimum 2 years tending bar in high-quality establishment.
• Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests.
• Have strong working knowledge of beer, wine and liquor and common drink recipes.
• Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a cash register.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• 100% walking and standing
• 90% communicating with guests and employees
• 25% reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English fluently
• Must have basic mathematical skills, ability to calculate figures and amounts.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Take beverage orders from guests and servers.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with Saint and Second standard drink recipes.
• Proper recipes, proper garnish and glassware.
• Learns the names and personally recognize our regulars.
• Record drink orders accurately and immediately after receipt into the register system.
• Accept guest payment, process credit card charges and make change (if applicable).
• Act as cashier. Manage and reconcile cash drawer ”bank,” make change for servers and pay out tips at end of shifts.
• Do accurate recap and shift end bank reports.
• Wash and sterilize glassware.
• Keep bar fully stocked with all products and supplies
• Prepare garnishes for drinks and replenish snacks, appetizers for bar patrons.
• Maintains bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages.
• Assist to Clear and reset tables in bar area.
• Present drink menus, make recommendations and answer questions regarding beverages.
• Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas.
• Develop strong understanding of all food offered and ability to describe, sell and serve all food items.
• Receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar.
• Understand and follow Standards of service of all food and beverage.
• Act as an ambassador for Saint and Second to promote upcoming events and special occasions.
• Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to restaurant manager.
• Assist the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies.
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
