Frontier Cooperative is seeking a Controller to join our Accounting Team. Under the leadership of the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller performs highly responsible professional work in a wide variety of Company accounting functions, including; accounts receivable, accounts payable, budgeting, cash management, accounting systems, auditing, cost accounting, and equity.

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assists the CFO in managing the accounts payable and accounts receivables program and reconciles payments and revenues to the general ledger.
• Establish (in coordination with CFO) financial and operating benchmarks, program monitoring, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, and annual basis.
• Collects and prepares financial data to be submitted for preparation of annual audits; participates in audit interviews and audit finding meetings.
• Assists the CFO in equity record keeping and patronage activities; monitors, records and distributes patronage payments annually. Manages deferred equities, revolving accounts and payouts to estates.
• Implements consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs by developing and enforcing internal controls to maximize protection of company assets and workflows.
• Develops and enhances professional business relationships with banking institutions, auditors and customers in the trade territory by providing technical financial advice and knowledge.

Requirements include, but are not limited to, the following: 

• Experience needed with a variety of software programs such as: Microsoft Office products, Agris, Triple E, Gasboy and Energy Force.
• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in accounting and business administration, financial administration or organization/management analysis or related field. 
• Five to seven years of progressive finance experience, preferably in a similar industry or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
• Must possess knowledge of the principles and practices of accounting, information technology and human resources.
• Experience with commodity hedging is preferred.
