The Museum Educator is responsible for providing educational services at the Dunn Museum, other District sites, schools, libraries, and community facilities; this includes the development, presentation and evaluation of school, youth, family, and adult programs to meet professional standards and local audience needs. Assists in development of education objectives and material for exhibitions. Coordinates Dunn Museum volunteer program. May supervise volunteers. Performs tasks that will require walking, bending, stooping, standing, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and sitting. Performs lifting tasks up to 25 pounds.

Bachelor's Degree in education, history, museum studies or closely related field. One year related experience in a museum setting with program coordination, including audience analysis, program research and development, artifact interpretation techniques, script writing, and public interaction. Knowledge of or willingness to learn Lake County history, Illinois history, and American history, in order to develop and implement appropriate educational programming. Must possess valid driver’s license.
