Your Main Responsibilities:

As a Laboratory Technician, your attention to detail and self-starting nature will allow you to make meaningful contributions to our Quality Program. Your work will be essential to releasing product for sale to our customers. This position reports directly to the Laboratory Supervisor.

A typical day as a Laboratory Technician involves the following tasks:

  • Prepare materials for and then perform QC testing per the testing schedule developed by the Laboratory Supervisor.
  • Ensure laboratory logs, including but not limited to the the micropipettor calibration log, autoclave log, and incubator temperature log are accurately updated at the required frequency.
  • Maintain inventory levels of all laboratory supplies and place orders as needed through the Materials Manager.
  • Complete necessary paperwork for QC testing to be sent in a timely way to the CEO or other designated personnel for the generation of Certificates of Quality.
  • Maintains in good order the retention inventory.
  • Complete lot files upon issuance of Certificates of Quality.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the laboratory (including but not limited to mopping and dusting, emptying trash cans, and staging biohazardous materials for decontamination).
  • Engage in other projects as required by the Laboratory Supervisor.

About You/Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Reading ability sufficient to comprehend written materials found in instruction booklets or operating procedure manuals
  • Arithmetic ability sufficient to perform basic mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Basic knowledge of computers and ability to work in software programs such as Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Desired: Knowledge of microbiology
  • Desired: One or more years of experience working in a laboratory setting
