Casa Bonita is owned and operated by Park County, the rapidly growing entertainment holding company that was formed almost 10 years ago to consolidate long-running business operations and achieve an efficient financing structure. In addition to producing one of the most successful TV franchises of all time, the company recently kick-started new initiatives by acquiring, investing in, and bootstrapping new businesses that promise
to chart the course for its next growth phase.

Position Overview

We are hiring for a General Counsel to provide legal advice, counseling and support to the management of the venue. This person will report to the General Counsel of Park County and be responsible for working with Casa Bonita management, especially Casa Bonita's General Manager on developing legal strategy, performing legal research, and ensuring the business is compliant with applicable laws. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in employment law and matters pertaining to the retail business.
Responsibilities
  • Working closely with the General Manager, providing practical legal advice to enable management to achieve business objectives while operating within legal parameters.
  • Address a wide range of employment law issues, such as recruitment and hiring, performance management, discipline, termination, disability-related accommodations, leaves of absence, pay equity, and organizational restructuring.
  • Advise on employee benefits matters, including incentive plans, welfare plans, retirement plans, benefits documentation, and claims.
  • Provide advice on and/or draft various employee-facing policies, forms, agreements, communications, and systems.
  • Advise HR and management on handling internal employee complaints and grievances.
  • Actively manage outside counsel in defending litigation, labor arbitrations.
  • Prepare and update form contracts for the business.
  • Review contracts and agreements related to the day-to-day operation of the business.
  • Oversee overall legal compliance of the business.
Qualification/ Skills:
  • Juris Doctor degree required.
  • 7 years of meaningful employment law experience advising HR and management either in a law firm or in-house role.
  • Firm knowledge of federal employment laws (i.e. Title VII, Civil Rights Act, Equal Pay Act, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, WARN) is required.
  • Knowledge of state employment laws in Colorado.
  • Must be a current member of a state bar in good standing. If not a member of the Colorado state bar, will be required to gain admission after commencement of employment.
  • Experience guiding retail and supply chain organizations.
  • Knowledge of employee benefit matters desired, but not required.
