Boutique Recruiting is Hiring a Payroll Manager Near Lakeside, CA

An electrical company in Lakeside, CA that specializes in electrical, solar and wind power is seeking a highly motivated Payroll Manager to join their team and manage their weekly payroll! The company is looking for a certified payroll expert with at least 2 years of experience, who understands union liability and benefits.

Pay Range: $80,000 - $85,000 DOE
Responsibilities:

  • Collect, compile, and enter weekly payroll data using appropriate software
  • Review and verify source documents, investigate and correct payroll discrepancies and errors
  • Complete requests for pay-related documents including statements and verification
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines regarding prevailing wage, Public works projects, and LCP documentation
  • Process in-house payroll on a weekly basis, including certified payroll and certified payroll reports
  • Process liabilities and garnishments
  • Labor compliance
  • Prepare reporting and documents for upper management and yearly external auditor
  • Maintain employee files with required documentation, ensure completion of new hire documentation
  • Maintain human resource information system, records, and compiles reports from the database, files all reports in Precision HR files
  • Post job openings
  • Responsible for documenting any of the job injuries and submitting claim
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (highly preferred)
  • 4 years of payroll experience with 2 years of certified payroll experience
  • Must have union experience and knowledge of California state law
  • Proficiency in Sage 100 (highly preferred) and ProCore, and certified payroll reports
  • Ability to manage a weekly payroll for 65 employees
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to investigate and correct payroll discrepancies
  • Familiarity with prevailing wage, public works projects, and LCP documentation
  • Experience with onboarding/offboarding employees and managing benefits through the union
  • Ability to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines
  • Strong organizational skills, reliability, and tenacity when working through problems
