Azure Eye Center is Hiring an Ophthalmic Technician Near Keller, TX

Our service-oriented clinical staff are an essential part of our care team. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you’ll be working alongside our physician and senior tech on a daily basis to ensure that patients receive the highest quality care and treatment for their condition. As a new ophthalmology practice, we’re looking for a self-motivated and tech-savvy team member who is a fast learner and enjoys working with people. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and works well as a member of a cohesive care team, alongside the doctor, practice manager, and other clinic staff, willing to step in to support coworkers as needed. As a rapidly growing boutique practice, we're looking for someone who wants to grow with us!

Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States and have reliable transportation. Relocation and visa sponsorship are not provided. Selected candidates must successfully complete a criminal background check and drug screen prior to start of employment.

Job duties include:

  • Room patients and prepare charts for physician
  • Perform refractions, lensometry, applanation tonometry, muscle testing
  • Operate and manage routine maintenance of ophthalmic equipment
  • Perform patient interviews to complete detailed patient histories
  • Assist physician with coordinating surgeries and procedures, as needed
  • Greet and check patients in and out
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Review, revise and update forms, policies and procedures
  • Follow practice procedures, guidelines and policies
  • Contribute to practice process improvement initiatives
  • Other administrative tasks as assigned, including answering phone calls, scheduling patients, verifying insurance etc.

Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in ophthalmology or optometry
  • Knowledgeable about patient work-up, including vision, IOP, autorefraction, lensometry, fundus photos, OCT, topography, biometry, and refraction
  • Prior experience with EHR systems, ModMed preferred
  • Comfortable using technology, including computer applications, mobile devices and printers
  • Fluent in Spanish or Vietnamese (strongly preferred)

Job Types: Full-time or part-time with potential for full-time after probation period

Salary: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour, based on clinical experience
