About Our Role:
As an Infrared Filed Technician, you will evaluate and monitor the condition of our client's electrical, mechanical, and structural systems, using an infrared camera. This could include vibration data collection, ultrasound testing (high voltage electrical, compressed air, steam systems, and mechanical systems). In this role, you will work at SEAM Group’s diverse customer facilities including leading software development companies, big-box distribution centers, and more.
As our Infrared Field Technician, you are responsible for:
  • Compliance with SEAM Group Electrical Safety PPE policy.
  • Perform infrared inspection of electrical, mechanical, and structural systems.
  • Perform a visual inspection of electrical, mechanical, and structural systems.
  • Opening live electrical equipment to expose energized connections.
  • Managing contracted electricians on client sites.
  • Cooperating with client personnel on the client site.
  • Advise clients on techniques to mitigate issues uncovered during the inspection.
  • Use proprietary software tools supplied by Seam Group.
  • Complete expense reports in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to arrive to work on time and maintain a positive attendance record.
  • Perform any other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualified Infrared Field Technicians have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • A strong safety orientation as well as being willing and able to wear up to Category 4 Personal Protective Equipment while on the job.
  • Ability to pass the Seam Group Level I Thermography course.
  • Basic computer skills in current software platforms, as well as the ability to work with mobile devices, such as laptops/tablets, are required.
  • Ability to speak and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to behave in a professional fashion to enhance customer confidence in our company.
Successful candidates for this role have the following education, experience, and qualifications:
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Computer literacy, familiar with windows programs and Microsoft office tools.
  • Well-developed interpersonal communication skills with all levels of the organization.
  • Thermographic camera experience preferred
  • Vibration Level 1 certification preferred
  • Rotating and/or reciprocating equipment repair experience as a mechanic craft worker
  • Desire to continuously improve skills as an analyst
