Requirements:

• Requires Graduation from an accredited program in Speech Therapy.
• Licensed in the state of Florida. 
• Basic Life Support Certification is required

About the Job:

A Staff Speech Therapist evaluates patients, then using sound judgment and psychological sensitivity, plans and implements an effective, individualized physical therapy program based upon the physical assessment of the patient and their post-discharge needs. The Staff Speech Therapist maintains a high level of professional expertise and assumes responsibility for their professional growth and development. In addition, the Staff Speech Therapist adheres to all of the policies, procedures and objectives of Lower Keys Medical Center and the Rehabilitation Services Department.

•  Diagnosing and treating speech and language problems, and engaging in scientific study of human communication.
• Evaluating speech and language skills as related to educational, medical, social, and psychological factors.
• Planning, directing, or conducting rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication problems of organic and nonorganic etiology.

Established in 1971, Lower Keys Medical Center is licensed as a 167-bed acute care hospital with 24 hour emergency department care, laboratory and radiology services, and medical transport.
