ChildServe is Hiring a HR Administrative Coordinator Near Johnston, IA

Do you love working with details and processes? We have an opening for a HR Administrative Coordinator who will provide essential transactional services and administrative support for various human resources functions. This team member will also provide frequent first-line customer service support to hiring leaders, staff and new hires.
Schedule
  • M-F business hours; work until 6pm up to 1 day per week
  • Work is onsite in our Johnston, IA location
What You'll Do 
  • Administer transactional processes relating to human resources functions, including but are not limited to data entry, reporting, and filing, with use of multiple software programs. Triage incoming requests to HR throughout the day. Process changes to employee data in the HR database/software, to coordinate with benefits and payroll processes. Independently complete multiple daily processes, with a high volume of work. Assist with related reporting. Independently partner with HR, payroll, business leaders, staff, and others to answer questions and resolve issues regarding employee data and HR processes.
  • Facilitate completion of new hire paperwork with new staff each week. Greet staff in line with ChildServe’s culture and values. Ensure staff complete forms with accuracy and compliance to meet business needs. Enter new hire data into the HR software. Ensure the new hire documents align with the broader onboarding process; partner with HR team and leaders to resolve issues, ensure efficiency and compliance, and make updates to the documents and process as needed.
  • Provide friendly and professional first-line service to customers (staff, candidates, volunteers, vendors, and others) regarding select HR topics/processes. Assist with events to support the team and HR initiatives.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of procedural documentation, develop it when necessary, and train team members for effective backup. Regularly assess processes for efficiency, determine gaps, and make recommendations for improvement by providing recommendations to leadership. Partner with HR, payroll, business leaders, and others to ensure processes align with efficiency and compliance. Participate in process improvement initiatives by providing input regarding processes and assisting with recommendations and implementation.
  • Partner with Human Resources staff to ensure administrative needs are met. May include activities such as Ordering supplies for the department, and handling equipment maintenance,. Occasionally assist with meeting coordination and similar functions.
  • Independently prioritize to ensure all deadlines are consistently met. Professionally handle regular interruptions and multi-task a variety of tasks simultaneously. Ensure a high degree of accuracy, meet deadlines, and regularly review completed work to promote high quality results.
What You'll Need
  • Associate degree, or equivalent experience in an HR or payroll support role.
  • One year professional administrative work in a fast-paced environment with multi-tasking, preferably in Human Resources.
  • Ability to maintain a positive working relationships and demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for, a diverse population. 
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times with customers, sometimes under stressful circumstances.
  • Demonstrate proficient organizational and time management skills with developed problem solving skills and decision-making, and ability to prioritize multiple demands.
  • Ability to work effectively, accurately, and efficiently under multiple demands and frequent interruptions.
  • Must exercise confidentiality regarding the affairs of clients, staff, their families, and ChildServe business.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office and Excel and ability to proficiently learn new software programs.
  • Ability to communicate in English effectively for understanding, in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to make independent judgements within parameters to quickly solve transactional issues.
