Department: Hotel Housekeeping
Purpose: To clean hotel guest rooms according to quality and performance standards
Duties:
- Clean and reset hotel guest rooms according to established standards
- Organize and stock cleaning cart and organize linen closets on floors assigned
- Complete any assigned paperwork in an accurate, timely manner
- Perform other duties as assigned (i.e., cleaning spills, executing special guest requests, etc.)
- Assist other departmental staff in maintaining clean and organized work and public areas
- Housekeeping / Hotel Room Attendant experience desired, but not required
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace
- Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process
- Must demonstrate good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must possess basic computational ability
- Must demonstrate a working knowledge of applicable sanitation standards
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Must maintain a neat and clean physical appearance
- Most work tasks are indoors. Temperature is moderate; controlled by hotel environmental systems
- Must be able to work with detergents and chemical compounds required for cleaning and sanitation
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length
- Must be able to lift as much as 50 pounds on a regular and continuing basis
- Must be able to push/pull carts/equipment weighing up to 250 pounds on a regular, continuing basis
- Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks
- Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach different floors of the hotel on a timely basis
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability, and visual acuity
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in communicating with guests and other employees
- Vision occurs continuously with the most common functions being near vision and depth perception
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment
Job Performance: Employees are expected to complete duties quickly, efficiently, and safely.
Conduct: Employees are expected to follow worksite rules and regulations. Employees who violate worksite rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
