PURPOSE OF POSITION:

This position is responsible primarily for directing and coordinating the activities of the Production Department in a safe and effective manner in order to produce quality products for customers and maintain aggressive manufacturing schedules.

• Plan and establishes daily production targets, assignments, and sequences to meet production goals as communicated by the Manufacturing Manager.
• Organizes and prepares work schedules for employees.
• Communicating job expectations including planning and monitoring to production leads.
• Revise production schedules when required due to priorities, engineering design changes, labor or material shortages, back orders or other situations requiring collaboration with management to update production schedules and plans.
• Interact with various departments on a daily basis to gather information to get projects started and completed.
• Stage project workflow to achieve most efficient production cycle.
• Develop manufacturing standards for consistency of product.
• Ensure schematics and materials are available to complete projects.
• Ownership of quality in all aspects of production.

• Work with First Shift Production supervisors to ensure efficient turnover and continuation of work in progress.
• Provide technical expertise and respond to questions from the team.
• Assist with personal issues on the floor involving HR.
• Assist with the hiring and terminations as well as disciplinary actions when needed.
• Update various spreadsheets during the shift.
• Prepare and send a turnover to first shift Floor Leads and Production Supervisors.
• Monitor and aide leads and team leads to make sure the right people are on the jobs to ensure we stay on schedule.
• Maintain accurate and thorough records.
• Perform other duties which may be required by supervisor.

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus!
• Read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, read mechanical assembly drawings.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Technical Degree (BS) preferred or 5 years’ experience in associated manufacturing field.
• At least 2 years of direct supervisory experience with production, engineering, warehouse and quality functions in a manufacturing/plant environment with emphasis on electrical assembly.
