The Senior Data Engineer will be part of a team of data and technical professionals responsible for planning, developing, deploying, implementing, and maintaining data solutions and database infrastructures. The role focuses on analyzing, organizing, managing, delivering, and optimizing data quality using best practices for real-time and batch processing, reporting, and analytics. Expertise in relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake) and familiarity with ETL tools and open-source relational databases are essential. The goal is to leverage platforms and tools to provide efficient, reliable, and scalable data solutions that support business decision-making.

Essential Job Skills and Responsibilities:

• Ensure high-quality performance of all databases and data delivery systems, delivering world-class stability and efficiency.
• Deep understanding of relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) to choose appropriate systems and design efficient data schemas.
• Proven expertise with technologies such as Snowflake and Databricks
• Proficiency in ETL tools for building and managing data pipelines.
• Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, OCI) for deploying and managing cloud-based data solutions.
• Solid grasp of distributed systems concepts for designing scalable and fault-tolerant data architectures.
• Ability to build complex business database systems, handling data in motion and at rest, and understanding the relationship between data-dependent processes and applications.
• Proficient in operating systems like Linux and Windows.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to solve complex problems with minimal direction.
• Capability to work autonomously.
• Advanced SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases.
• 6 years of experience in database development using PL/SQL and SQL Server, Oracle, and Snowflake.

Technical Skills:

• Experience as a Database Administrator in Oracle 12c and higher.
• SQL Server/Oracle Certified DBA preferred.
• Knowledge of Oracle Advanced Security, TDE/Oracle encryption.
• Experience with SQL Server 2012 and higher.
• Skilled in database security strategies.
• Knowledge of cloud computing.

Job Experience:

• 6 years of technology experience, with 5 years in a relevant discipline.
• Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of formal education.

Complexity and Decision-Making:

• Limited decision-making authority, sufficient to achieve desired results.
• Minimal impact on budgets, staff, projects, and supported environments.
• No supervisory responsibilities.
• Minimal direct impact on budget.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
