GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Food Service Worker is responsible for preparing all meals for the children at The Academy for Young Achievers and maintain a clean and sanitized duties.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Properly prepare nutritious meals for up to 185 children, including meals for children who require special diets.
- Follow the CACFP guidelines for meal preparation.
- Follow the CACFP approved menu.
- Must be able to order food in large quantities.
- Follow local health and safety codes.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized kitchen and cafeteria area including but not limited to washing dishes, sweeping, and mopping floors.
- Maintain SafeServe certification and remain up to date on required training.
- Other duties, as needed.
- A minimum of a high school diploma. two years of experience in which large number of meals were prepared for a diverse population.
- Must become certified in SafeServe within six months of hire date.
- Must be organized.
- Have a positive attitude and work well with others.
- Must be able to be mobile.
- Must be able to lift food trays, food trays and supplies.
- Must pass background check and drug- screening.
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
Salary Range $15.00 - $18.00 per hour based on experience.
