Job Summary

Plans and delivers wound/ostomy services to patient populations across the continuum and settings of care using the nursing processes of assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation and teaching. Incorporates multifaceted evidence-based specialty practices while providing excellence in prevention, health maintenance, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitative nursing care.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice as an RN in the state of South Dakota.
• Following a formal orientation, proficiency in the assigned clinical area is expected within six months.
• CPR certified.
• Consistently requires a high degree of social sensitivity and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare personnel within and outside the agency.

Working Conditions:

• Requires frequent walking, standing, sitting, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, feeling, talking, hearing and moderate (exerting/lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly) lifting of clients and equipment.
• Risks exposure to communicable or infectious disease.
• Failure to comply with standards of nursing care of HRMC may result in consequences to continued employment.
• Subject to inside environmental conditions (protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change) and to atmospheric conditions (one or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases or poor ventilation).
