Responsible for maintaining residential apartment building in clean and sanitary conditions and free of hazards at all times, which includes all common areas, offices, and staff areas. Monitoring and maintaining inventory of janitorial supplies. Assisting in monitoring key common element components like water heaters, water pumps, and elevators and bring any unusual operating conditions to managements’ attention, especially when working over the weekend. Similarly, responding to apartment emergencies like water leaks or fires with the primary goal of keeping residents and pets safe and mitigate property damage. This is a highly demanding physical job which requires frequent walking, bending, and climbing; lifting, handling and moving boxes, furniture, equipment and other materials weighing 50-100 lbs.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Need minimal supervision with a self-directed work ethic
• Ability to work within a team, including communicating with the office and other staff to coordinate work
• Working knowledge on how to properly handle, store, and dispose of cleaning chemicals and materials safely
• Competency on how to use the equipment and cleaning supplies needed for the job

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Maintain cleanliness of offices, restrooms, and indoor and outdoor common areas by emptying trash, vacuuming and/or mopping floors and hallways, wiping down countertops, windows, doors, and other surfaces, furniture, and appliances
• Clean elevator lobbies and elevator tracks
• Check stairwells for trash and graffiti and sweep and clean stairwells
• Clean trash chute rooms, trash chute doors, trash chute room, and recycle area
• Pressure wash recreation deck
• Disinfect all bathrooms and restock bathrooms
• Reporting any unsafe or potential hazards or security problems to management immediately
• Monitor and maintain janitorial supplies inventory to prevent shortages
• Other duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
