Position OverviewOur client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapist to join their outpatient rehabilitation team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will have expertise in providing exceptional care to both pediatric and adult populations with various physical, developmental, and sensory challenges. This role requires a commitment to client-centered care, whether working with children or adults, a passion for enhancing individuals' quality of life, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate individuals' functional abilities, developmental milestones (for pediatric cases), and sensory processing skills.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, client-centered goals, and evidence-based interventions, tailored to both pediatric and adult populations.
- Implement therapeutic interventions to address clients' needs, including fine motor skills, sensory integration, activities of daily living (ADLs), and social-emotional development.
- Provide education and training to clients, families, and caregivers on home programs, adaptive equipment, and environmental modifications to support progress and independence across the lifespan.
- Collaborate closely with parents, caregivers, teachers (for pediatric cases), and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with legal and professional standards.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and stay current with best practices for both pediatric and adult occupational therapy.
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist (or eligible for licensure).
- Experience or strong interest in both pediatric and adult occupational therapy.
- Ability to establish rapport with clients of all ages and their families, creating a supportive and nurturing therapeutic environment.
- Proficiency in pediatric and adult assessment tools, treatment techniques, and family-centered interventions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with electronic health records and clinical documentation software applicable to both pediatric and adult practice settings.
