SUMMARY :
Under general supervision, the Welder uses hand welding and flame cutting equipment such as arc welders, gas welders, and gas torches to weld together metal components (flat, horizontal, or vertical plates and pipes).
The Welder aligns and welds components of metal tools, wires, fixtures and other metal products.
JOB DUTIES
Works from sketches, prints, operation sheets, preliminary drawings, and written / verbal instructions.
Maintains welding specifications.
Sets up and operates all welding equipment.
May utilize different types of welding systems for different tasks.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Typically requires a technical degree and one (1) to four (4) years of related experience or an equivalent combination.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Knowledge of Chemistry and Metallurgy.
Understanding of Electricity.
Knowledge of basic computer programming.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to Read Blueprints.
