Our client is offering an opportunity for a Carrier Manager role in the Houston area. The Carrier Manager will join their team in the Distribution industry, located in Houston, Texas. This Carrier Manager role will be responsible for developing and vetting relationships with trucking companies and controlling the costs, activities and performance of companies that provide the transportation of their product.
Responsibilities:
• Carrier Management in Trucking by full truckload or less-than-truckload (LTL)
• Negotiate rates, spot rates and capacity with carriers driving revenue growth
• Understand the capabilities of the carrier capacity across multiple modes (van, flatbed, reefer)
• Identify and secure Carrier partners and capacity in specific market areas
• Adhere to DOT Regulations and DOT Compliance in all functions
• Maintain positive and effective vendor relations
• Handle ground transportation logistics as required
• Resolve customer credit inquiries promptly and professionally.
