Answers and addresses all phone calls directed to host/ess stand in a courteous, professional and timely manner
Asks if it is guests’ first time, and if so, alerts manager
Calculates approximate wait time and manages guests’ expectations when there is a wait
Thanks guests as they leave and invites them to come back
Confirms guest reservations the morning of their reservation
Performs other functions as time permits and as necessary including, but not limited to, rolling silverware, cleaning entryway, seating
Advises a Manager of any guest complaints
Weekend, Evening and Holiday work are required
Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills
Reading, writing, verbal communication, and simple math skills required
Has thorough knowledge of restaurant hours, offerings, special events, etc
Ability to exercise good judgment when resolving problems
Ability to remain calm and outgoing under pressure
Attention to detail
Able to respond in emergency situations to avoid imminent dangers to self and others
Be able to find or have a reliable source of transportation
