Our client, a hospital here in Metro Detroit, MI with multiple locations in the area is looking to add two employees to their 3rd shift team (10:30pm - 7:00am) to assist with specimen processing responsibilities. This position is GREAT for anyone looking for full time employment looking to get experience working in a hospital during this upcoming summer. This project might last 3 weeks to 2 months in duration.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing

Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas

Accurately identify and label specimens

Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities

Meet department activity and production goals

Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples

Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner

Resolve and document any problem specimens

3rd shift, Most Likely seven days a week (Mon - Fri Sat and Sun) until project is completed

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least one year of prior specimen processing experience OR aseptic technique
• Comfortable handling biological specimens
• Strong data entry and organizational skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Proficient in MS Office
• Ability to pass a standardized color-blind test
