Castle Rock Medical Center is Hiring a Registered Nurse Near Green River, WY

Castle Rock Medical Center is looking for a temporary full-time RN to join the team. Temporary full-time hours are estimated to run Summer 2024 to December 2024.

Summary of Job:

Works in close harmony with physicians, PAs, receptionists, laboratory and x-ray technicians. Carries out physicians’ orders while exhibiting initiative and sound judgment in the absence of specific physician’s orders. Must be able to anticipate physicians’ needs and maintain a steady and timely flow of patients assuring that those presenting with emergent problems are seen first. Assists CRMC departments with educational in-services for employees, immunization clinics and infection control.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ushers’ patient to proper exam room.
  • Takes and records patient history in electronic health record.
  • Assesses and records vital signs, height, and weight in electronic health record.
  • Observes, records and reports information, signs, and symptoms pertinent to patient’s condition and patient care.
  • Administers all medications, including injections, as ordered by a physician.
  • Initiates, records, monitors and discontinues IV therapy as ordered by physician.
  • Maintains accurate record of all narcotics in stock and distributed including injections.
  • Maintains proper lock up of all narcotics.
  • Maintains accurate record of all injections, and other medications i.e., oral, and topical administered and distributed.
  • Prepares patient for exam and procedures as ordered by physician/PA.
  • Performs/assists in procedures with physician/PA as ordered.
  • Assists with exam as directed by physician/PA.
  • Fills out necessary requisitions for referrals to other departments.
  • Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for necessary procedures.
  • Maintains adequate stock in exam/treatment rooms.
  • Assures that adequate stock of medical supplies are available, notifying supervisor when supplies are low.
  • Prepares and cleans exam rooms between patients.
  • Always maintains sanitary conditions in the department.
  • Responsible for cleaning and sterilizing instruments and equipment used.
  • Triage patients and prioritizes patient care needs.
  • Checks daily lab and x-ray results making follow-up phone calls as necessary.
  • Makes other follow-up phone calls as necessary or as directed by a physician.
  • Takes/places phone calls and messages for physician.
  • Notifies hospital of patient referral or transfer.
  • Assists with scheduling hospital/specialist referrals.
  • Calls in prescriptions to pharmacy as delegated by provider.
  • Set up referrals to other agencies.
  • Maintains accurate, timely and complete documentation of patient files.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and has strong knowledge of HIPAA.
  • Assists in other departments as may be appropriate.
  • Assists with immunization clinics when requested.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification required.
  • Knowledge of electronic health record systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with physicians and District employees is essential.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred. Associate degree with acceptable experience in either an ambulatory care or tertiary care setting may be substituted.
  • Valid nursing license is required but a graduate nurse will be considered.
