Position: Senior Project Manager
About the Client:
The Client, a prominent commercial general contractor in the Twin Cities, specializes in design/build projects across various sectors including Hospitality, Country Clubs, Non-Profits, Retail, Industrial, Grocery, Wellness, Pools, and Office sectors.
About the Role:
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to join our team, responsible for overseeing the firm's new construction, tenant build-out, and renovation projects. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience and expertise to the table, guiding projects from design development through construction and beyond.
Responsibilities:
- Foster strong professional relationships with clients, vendors, and partners, ensuring excellent customer service.
- Collaborate early with clients, architects, engineers, and value engineering specialists to understand project objectives and scope thoroughly.
- Manage preconstruction tasks concurrently, including construction documents, permit gathering, and pre-planning.
- Develop accurate estimates and proposals.
- Solicit and manage subcontractors, ensuring labor bids are obtained and coordinated effectively.
- Coordinate project resources to maximize efficiency and meet timeline objectives.
- Direct subcontractors to ensure adherence to plans, contract specifications, codes, safety protocols, and best practices.
- Manage costs to meet or exceed profit margin expectations.
- Analyze job progress, address discrepancies, and demonstrate adaptability to maintain project schedules.
- Handle personal travel costs and monthly expense reports.
- Maintain administrative details in estimating software and service management systems.
- Collaborate with the Financial Department to meet project AR and AP responsibilities.
- Work closely with Ownership to drive new business and maintain current client projects.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in commercial projects of varying types, sizes, and complexities, with expertise in pricing, subcontractor bidding, proposal presentation, and scheduling.
- Degree in construction engineering, construction management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and practical field experience.
- Preferably, familiarity with CAD and Visio.
- Ability to present project information to stakeholders and lead project meetings.
- Capacity to multitask in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
- Proficiency in a Windows environment, using MS Project and Excel.
- Procore experience preferred but not required.
- Willingness and ability to travel and manage workload while out of the office.
