Quality Control Technician

American Colors, Inc. is a manufacturer of colorants supplied to diverse applications that include paint, coatings, adhesives, composites, films, and landscape & agriculture. Our laboratory work involves hands-on work to formulate, test, and develop new products to fulfill the needs of our customers.

Summary of Position:

• Conduct chemical and physical laboratory tests to assist lead chemists or project managers in making qualitative and quantitative analyses of solids and liquid materials
• Analyze color samples for grind specifications, color, and other quality-related parameters
• Use logic and reasoning to identify and execute necessary adjustments on products and samples
• Safely perform laboratory bench work to verify formulations and perform validation work to customer specifications utilizing equipment and processes including, but not limited to:

*Particle dispersion by media milling and high-speed mixing

*Particle size analysis

*Color spectroscopy

*Physical testing suite including viscometers, non-volatile analyzer, pH measurement, moisture titration, accelerated weather testing

• Perform physical inspections of products to evaluate quality and performance
• Maintain accurate documentation of laboratory activities including but not limited to formulations, test results, status updates, and project reports

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Flexible schedule and willingness to work 2nd and 3rd shift preferred
• Basic math, reading, writing, and computer skills
• Willingness to comply with all safety guidelines
• Physically capable of manual labor and work 8-hour shifts
• Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
