Meridian Group, Inc. is Hiring a Construction Estimator Near Gainesville, GA

We are partnered with a leader in the prefabricated unit manufacturing space that is seeking a Construction Estimator to join their team and support the continued organizational growth. 
The Construction Estimator is responsible for the management of modular buildings from conception through delivery, working with Sales, Purchasing, Accounting, Quality Control, Engineering and Service/Warranty Departments. The Construction Estimator also works closely with partner contractors/subcontractors to come up with a vertically integrated design and manages these partners to deliver the projects on schedule and budget. This is a technical position. The organization's technical staff is given the responsibility and authority to directly drive the process. 
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Construction Estimator will have the unique opportunity to provide immediate feedback response to cost savings opportunities and alternate technology evaluation. This position will also be responsible for “detailed” take-offs, estimates, proposal review and change order review.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
 Creation of construction estimating assemblies across all disciplines.
 Prepare independent internal “detailed” take-off and cost estimates from conceptual ideas and plans to an established construction budget and serve as a subject matter expert to others on cost estimating activities.
 Review/Qualify complex contractor cost estimates.
 Ensure all project work scope has been included or delineated in the project estimates/proposals; verify all scope, durations, and assumptions included in each estimate and supports the authorization and release of every estimate.
 Research new products and installation techniques and develop cost roadmaps to ensure competitive pricing.
 Work with vertical peers focusing on continuous improvement to our business processes.
 Create cost estimates, studies, analyses, and evaluations, at all levels of project development, with heavy focus on conceptual planning and pre-construction phases, this role will partner with Purchasing, Engineering, Accounting and Production to ensuring that project cost is accurately accounted for.
 Create and update an estimating model in the estimating software (Procore).
 Provide various cost analysis, data gathering, and data analytics specific to the cost of work for construction.
 Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare/review/comment on time, cost, and labor estimates for projects.
 Review contractor and subcontractor proposals and change order estimates.
 Review and implement lessons learned to ensure estimating data is accurate and competitive.
 Review, evaluate and negotiate material quotes as needed.
 Understand and handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
 Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers/vendors, contractors, subcontractor / partners.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
 Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Estimating, Accounting,
Finance or relevant functional discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 5 years of related experience
 Detailed Construction estimating experience is strongly preferred.
 Understanding of all construction disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, structural, and civil.
 Ability to create construction assemblies that capture all associated cost (Materials, Labor and Overhead) and create an estimating program/process that achieves desired margins.
 Ability to create professional proposals that clearly communicate scopes of work, specifications and delineations-of-responsibility to not only our clients, but our sales, engineering, quality control, purchasing, production, accounting and service staff.
 Expert knowledge and experience of technical processes, engineering standards, state, and federal codes, analyzing data, generating reports for internal and external review and comment.
 Demonstrated knowledge of and experience using cost/estimating software (Procore and/or Global Shop).
 Experience preparing/reviewing contingency evaluation, durations, escalation, reconciliations for estimates.
 Ability to interpret construction plans, drawings, sketches, and specifications.
 Familiarity with Procore & Global Shop.
 Extensive experience using Microsoft Office software tools, such as MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Word, to be utilized in managing and reporting estimate throughput, status, and labor allocation.
