Meridian Group, Inc. is Hiring a CAD Operator/ Project Engineer Near Gainesville, GA

We are partnered with a niche market pre-fab manufacturing company that is seeking a CAD Operator/ Project Engineer to join their growing Gainesville area team.
Job Summary:
Use design software (preferably Solidworks, AutoCAD or equal) to convert project plans and specifications into working shop drawings. Interpret architectural plan and prepare routine layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, and diagrams. Details to include all views and dimensions necessary for manufacturing. Prepare manufacturing/production drawings and assemble material lists for order.
Essential Functions:
1. Use design software to provide production and detail part drawings
2. Create and revise production drawings (detail and assembly drawings)
3. Draw finished designs from project documents.
4. Create DXF files with layers as used in CNC programs.
5. Communicate with Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing regarding new and/or revised prints.
6. Produce Bill of Materials
7. Generate material requisitions.
8. Assist shop workers with drawing interpretation.
9. Travel to job meetings as required.
10. Ability to convey three dimensional assemblies in clear 3D or 2D drawings.
Qualifications:
1. Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED; Proficient with Solidworks, AutoCAD or
equal; 3-5 years in similar position producing CAD drawings for manufacturing usage.
2. Solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with Engineering terminology
3. Mechanical aptitude with ability to complete basic mathematical calculations.
4. Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane
and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages,
ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
5. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and
maintenance instructions and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of
customers or employees to present drawings, etc. with multi-layers to internal management and
external clients.
6. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete
variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of
instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
7. Skilled PC usage and associated software including Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
8. Ability to read and understand job specifications and architectural drawings.
9. Knowledge of general construction techniques.
10. Good organizational skills.
