The Carlstar Group is hiring for a Corporate Accountant who serves on the Accounting Team in the Franklin, TN corporate office. The successful candidate for this role will enjoy working independently on monthly accounting procedures and is searching for an opportunity to learn and assist with audit practices.
Primary responsibilities for this role include:
- Prepare General Ledger entries and reconciliations for month-end closing including the ability to work independently on given entries and reconciliations while adhering to given deadlines.
- Prepare monthly account analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Prepare sales and use tax audits and provincial returns for United States and Canada
- Assisting with audit process including working with internal and external stakeholders to prepare schedules on regular and ad hoc bases.
Essential skills and experience for this role include:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- 1-3 years of accounting experience required. Experience in manufacturing accounting strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in working with ERP systems required. JD Edwards experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word required.
- Demonstrated understanding of GAAP required.
- Demonstrated strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills required.
