Central Stone is Hiring a Safety Manager Near Fenton, MO

We are currently seeking candidates for a Safety Manager, based in the St. Louis area, to provide guidance and direction to meet our safety goals.

Safety Manager Major Responsibilities Include:

  • Work closely with the Safety Director, Area Managers and Site Management to ensure initiatives are properly aligned and executed throughout the region to meet or exceed corporate and site specific safety performance goals
  • Perform regular site audits for compliance with MSHA regulations and company health & safety rules/policies and procedures; make recommendations, champion change and recognize positive achievements/behaviors
  • Continuously engage the workforce to ensure needs and compliance are met; enforce safe behaviors and a positive safety culture, and participate on site with MSHA inspections
  • Identify safety training needs for the region; aid in the design, development, and implementation of training programs/policies as needed to ensure continuous improvement of employee health and safety behavior and performance.
  • Facilitate Annual Refresher Training/New Miner Training as required
  • Assist with root cause analysis for accidents, incidents, and near miss events; assist in development and implementation of corrective actions
  • Ensure contractors comply with all company, state, and federal regulations while on company property.
  • Review MSHA citations and implement corrective action(s), able to collect information and to facilitate appeal(s) of citations.
  • Advise the company safety and production departments of any safety issues or compliance specific issues with projects and operations.
  • Travel daily within the St. Louis region. Occasional travel outside the immediate St. Louis area, which may include an overnight stay.
  • Other job duties as assigned

Safety Manager candidates will preferably possess the following:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Safety Management, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene or related subject or equivalent experience and training
  • Minimum three (3) years of health and safety experience, preferably in a mining or construction environment
  • MSHA experience, with OSHA/DOT, U.S. Coast Guard Regulation experience a strong plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities appropriately
  • A valid driver's license with good driving record.
