The PositionOffice Supervisor's supervise all administrative functions of a department including, but not limited to, budgetary activities, accounting, purchasing, payroll, data processing, and personnel operations. Incumbents perform a variety of secretarial and administrative duties which include responsibility for a significant segment of departmental business affairs, program administration and/or the coordination of departmental clerical/secretarial services.

Special RequirementsApplicants are required to demonstrate intermediate word processing skills and may be required to test at a typing ability 50 net words per minute. Demonstration of these skills will be done during the online typing and Word processing examination. Selection Process06/28/24- 5:00pm (PST) - Deadline to submit application and required documents.
07/15/24 (week of) - Tentative date for Typing, Word, and Online Skills exams.
Based on the information provided in the application documents, the qualified applicants may be invited for further examination and will either be pre-scheduled by the Department of Human Resources or be invited to self-schedule. All applicants meeting the minimum qualifications are not guaranteed advancement through any subsequent phase of the examination . Depending upon the number of applications received, the selection process may consist of an initial application screening, a mandatory information meeting, a supplemental questionnaire assessment, a written and/or practical exam, an oral board exam, or any combination listed. Responses to supplemental questions may be used as screening and testing mechanisms and will be used to assess an applicant’s ability to advance in the process; as such, responses to supplemental questions should be treated as test examination responses. A minimum score of 70% is required for the Word processing exam and online written exam to continue in the selection process.All potential new hires and employees considered for promotion to management, confidential positions or unrepresented positions will be subject to a background and reference check after contingent job offer is accepted. Typing Certificate SubmittalApplicants may submit a typing certificate. If you choose to submit a typing certificate, the typing certificate must contain a minimum NET speed of (50) words per minute. It must be a timed 3 - 5 minute test, include the gross number of words typed per minute, and the number of errors. It must be from an accredited school or a qualified agency with an examiner's signature. Certificates obtained through the internet (online) will not be accepted.
