The incumbent applies both front-end and back-end skillsets to build responsive, accessible, and secure websites for SFPL public and staff users.The essential functions of this position include:Develop a SharePoint site and integrate SharePoint with Office 365, including architecture design, workflow creation integrated with 0365, knowledge management and application support;Identify user requirements, train users and troubleshoot problems;Create and test workflows, and search functions to enable productivity improvements;Create, maintain, and update code for the librarys SharePoint and Drupal 10 Content Management Systems (CMS);Develop and configure back-end elements and front-end features for public and intranet sites;Create test plans and perform testing; prepare documentation and instructions;Research and evaluate web technologies;makes recommendations for adoptions and/or purchase of specialized tools;Contribute to the development of timeline and other project planning processes;Design and develop HTML and CSS according to the Librarys accessibility policies and W3C guidelines; andPerforms related duties as requiredThese minimum qualifications are to be used as a guide for establishing the education, training, experience, special skills and/or license which may be required for employment in the class. Although these minimum qualifications are typical of the class, additional minimum qualifications and special conditions may apply to a particular position and will be stated on the job announcement.Experience:An associated degree in computer science or closely related field from an accredited college or university OR its equivalent in terms of total course credits/units [i.e., at least sixty (60) semester or ninety (90) quarter credits/units with a minimum of twenty (20) semester or thirty (30) quarter credits/units in computer science or a closely-related field]; ANDOne (1) year of experience in application or software development or programmingSubstitution:Additional experience as described above may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis (up to a maximum of two (2) years). One (1) year is equivalent to thirty (30) semester units / forty-five (45) quarter units with a minimum of 10 semester / 15 quarter units in computer science or a closely related field.Supplemental Information:Essential duties require the following physical skills and work requirements: Some positions may require sufficient strength and coordination for lifting, pushing, pulling and/or carrying the weight of computer equipment. May require hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity for data entry. May involve extensive VDT exposure.One year of full-time employment is equivalent to 2000 hours. (2000 hours of qualifying work experience is based on a 40-hour work week.) The MQSQ will be used to evaluate if the applicant possesses the required minimum qualifications.Supplemental Questionnaire (Weight: 100%):Supplemental Questionnaire (SQ) is designed to measure the knowledge, skills, and abilities in supervisory competencies as well as job-related areas which may include but not be limited to: SharePoint design and development processes and methodologies; front end and back-end skills to develop websites using tools, relational database systems; translate functional requirements into systems; analyze, and recommend technology solutions; test, code and implement programs; systems development cycle; manage competing priorities and multiple projects; establish and maintain effective working relationship; verbal and written communication.Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications will be emailed the supplemental questionnaire to the address listed on the candidates online application. Candidates will be required to respond to the supplemental questionnaire in the time frame indicated and must submit the completed questionnaire as directed in order to have it evaluated. Responses cannot be changed once submitted. Candidates will be evaluated based on their supplemental questionnaire responses. Candidates must achieve a passing score on the supplemental questionnaire in order to continue in the selection process and will be placed on the confidential eligible list in rank order according to their final score. After the confidential eligible list is adopted the department may administer additional selection procedures to make a final hiring decision.Additional selection processes may be conducted by the hiring department prior to making final hiring decisions.CertificationThe certification rule for the eligible list resulting from this examination will be theRule of the three.Eligible List/Score Report:A confidential eligible list of applicant names that have passed the civil service examination process will be created, and used for certification purposes only.
