General Summary

Ensure Seko Logistics local operations department processes are managed in order to satisfy internal and external Seko’s International Freight Forwarding Service requirements. Provide high quality customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Complete Seko Logistics operations processes including but not limited to:

• Receive and process shipments
  • Recoveries
  • Local Pick-up carriers
  • Other carrier
• Prepare and load:
  • Transfer freight
  • Outbound freight to line-haul carriers
  • Outbound freight for airport drops
• Process distressed freight in accordance with local and company standards
• Follow Seko SOP standard operating procedure for standard requirements
• Follow customer specific SOP for additional customer specific requirements
• Identify shipments requiring special handling and regulatory compliance due to shipment characteristics
• Comply with all applicable regulations
• Respond to customer requests for shipment status
• Respond to e-mail and telephone requests in a timely manner
• Respond to issues as escalated, escalate unresolved issues to next management level
• Comply with corporate, regional, branch, and department policies and procedures
• Any additional task or activity as requested or assigned by management

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Organizes and coordinates daily work flow with team members.
• Monitor email and other communication notifications establishing processes to ensure all are answered timely by lead and team members.
• Ensure proper coverage is met for assigned shift.

Qualifications

• Ability to acquire TSA certification (required)
• Self starter must be able to move onto the next task/issue on their own
• Good communication skills both written and verbal
• Able to take on responsibility for desk/workload

Education and /or Experience

• Some experience in domestic shipping a plus.
• High School diploma required 7.

Language skills

• Must be able to communicate clearly/concisely with customers, truckers, carriers, and Seko stations via both telephone and email.
• Must be able to handle irate customers with professional aplomb.

Computer skills

• Basic computer knowledge.
• Working knowledge of Outlook a must.
• Knowledge of Word & Excel a plus.

Physical demands

• Warehouse work as necessary. IE: strapping, labeling, accepting freight.
• Sitting, 2 hours per day
• Standing, 6 hours per day
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to bend, reach and move about the facility

Work Environment

• Office and Warehouse environment, 8 hours/day 11. Travel Requirements
