Illinois School District U-46 is Hiring a Seasonal Groundskeeper Near Elgin, IL
- Perform groundskeeping services including, but not limited to mowing, edging, trimming, mechanical weed control, pruning, and regular trash pick-up within the area of assignment.
- Assist with preparation of fields, tracks, courts, and grounds for athletic, extra-curricular, and other public events as assigned.
- Performs tree and shrub maintenance, including planting, transplanting, trimming, and removal.
- Conducts preventative maintenance checks, (oil, filters, belts, tire pressure, etc.).
- Assist other department personnel in the completion of work activities as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned
- Current Junior or Senior in High School or High School Diploma/equivalent required.
- Ability to demonstrate previous training and experience operating grounds equipment (i.e. weed whips, blowers, sidewalk edgers, etc.) within safety guidelines preferred
- Groundskeeping experience preferred.
- Able to lift 50 lbs. with proper technique.
- Work safely from stepladder, aerial lifts, or scaffolding up to a height of 10 ft.
- Work primarily outdoors involving exposure to inclement weather.
- This is a non-benefit temporary seasonal position. Salary and benefits as established by the Board of Education. Valid Illinois Driver’s License Required.
