We are all about hiring on attitude and training for skill. Most of our positions require little or no prior industry experience, but this is not one of those roles. To be our next Shop Manager on our team, you must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience managing a shop and/or working in the construction industry. This experience can come in any combination of field, operations and/or management but must total at least 3-years.

Requirements

A day in the life of a Shop Manager looks something like this:

  • Manage all aspects of the fire suppression shop, including inventory control, procurement, and distribution of materials.
  • Oversee the assembly, testing, and maintenance of fire suppression systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise shop staff, including training, and performance evaluation.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures to optimize shop efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and engineering, to coordinate projects and ensure timely delivery of products and services.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to maintain high standards of workmanship and safety.
  • Monitor shop performance metrics and implement improvements as needed to meet or exceed targets.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to fire suppression systems.

What You'll Need to Do it:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a field supervisory role in the construction industry
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn technical knowledge of the shop and equipment
  • Must be able to work at heights and lift at least 50lbs
  • Working knowledge of computer skills for documentation and shipping processes
