Occupational Summary

This position will provide overall administrative management and coordination of a large and complex master’s program. The Administrative Manager is charged with guiding the program’s workflow strategy and organization of all essential processes. This includes driving the execution of strategy and operations, reviewing the efficiency of current functions, planning changes and updates to day-to-day operations, and collaborating with the DMS and others to set and meet program objectives. The Administrative Manager will report to the Director and will work closely with program Faculty, staff, Graduate Student Programs and Services, and a range of offices and departments across campus.

Work Performed

  • Work in consultation with Director to develop strategic plans and long-range forecasts; plan program and divisional budgets by analyzing operating needs and projecting revenues and expenses on both a short-term and long-range basis.
  • Oversee processes and track operational metrics within the program, including admissions, enrollment, course offerings, faculty and TA schedules, student experience, etc.; develop and execute plans for continuous improvement
  • Work in consultation with the Director to develop and implement marketing and communications strategies and outreach campaigns to advance program initiatives to target universities and corporations.
  • Work in consultation with the Director in planning and executing the admission cycle (including participation in committee reviews).
  • Oversee fiscal management, including program budget development and reporting; prepare reports for submission. Prepare financial and operational reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends, and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of designated employees; manage personnel activities to meet university and departmental objectives; direct various personnel functions including, but not limited to, hirings, vacation schedules, and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure compliance training and development, performance evaluations, promotions, and transfer with university policies and procedures, particularly as they relate to financial and sponsored programs compliance and human resource management.
  • Maintain liaison with internal and external educational and professional organizations to explore new program opportunities, to develop and improve current programs and practices, and to represent the interests and capabilities of the School.
  • Represent the Director in meetings, conferences, and other affairs of an administrative nature.
  • Assist the Director in developing program reports, proposals, and requests for funds. Develop budgetary recommendations for educational and student activities programs.
  • Assist the director in alumni and corporate engagement.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Work requires a general business background generally equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a business-related field.

Experience

Work requires 4 years related business or administrative experience to EXPERIENCE OR ANY OTHER EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR functions. acquire competence in applying general personnel practices, accounting and budgeting principles and coordination of major administrative A master's degree in a business-related field may be substituted for 2 years of experience.
