Job Title: Skilled Laborer

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Fleet/Yard Foreman

Location: Durango, CO

Summary:

Busy specialty contractor searching for an experienced, motivated, and skilled yard assistant. This position would be responsible for assisting in the overall organization and smooth workflow of the yard and various projects. Must have demonstrated knowledge and experience with hauling equipment and operating forklifts, man-lifts, and other heavy equipment as needed to load and unload at jobsites.

Essential Duties:

· Organize and maintain cleanliness of yard and jobsites as directed by foreman.

· Haul materials and equipment safely to and from jobsites using ½-¾ ton pickup and trailer.

· Assist with coordination of regular vehicle and equipment maintenance to ensure safe and optimal operations with minimal downtime.

· Coordinate with coworkers who are bringing material and equipment to yard; direct placement of material/equipment.

· Support field personnel with retrieving and delivering materials, tools, equipment needed for projects throughout the day. Work to be proactive to minimize trips per day but flexible enough to allow for emergencies.

· Assist in building scaffolding and temporary structures at jobsites.

· Use various tools and equipment as needed at jobsites including pressure washers, drills, saws, grinders, etc.

· Support and adhere to company policies and procedures.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Ability to take initiative and get tasks completed with minimal supervision.

· Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.

· Reliable with a strong work ethic.

· Ability to communicate verbally in English.

· Mechanically inclined a big plus!

· Ability to hook up and haul with a trailer.

· Analyze problems and make decisions within scope of duties.

· Knowledge of wide range of tools and equipment including mini excavators, skid steers, trailers, and power tools.

· Team player with positive and cooperative attitude.

· Will be required to pass a DOT physical for interstate travel.

Education and Experience:

· Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the construction industry.

· Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record required!

· Forklift certified preferred.

Work Environment:

Typically, Monday-Friday 7AM-4PM but can flex earlier or later depending on the situation. Based primarily at ASCO/3D Corp office in Durango, CO. May require travel to jobsites throughout southern Colorado and eastern New Mexico. Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50lbs. Must be able to climb stairs and navigate from one level to another, work in uneven terrain and inclement weather.
