Experienced Landscaper

Full time position, season start March to approx’ Thanksgiving. (Winter work offered, to be discussed)

Job Role:

• To carryout the build of new gardens, both hard and soft-landscaping projects from start to finish
• We carry out no weekly maintenance
• Operate various tools and equipment, including: heavy equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a regular basis
• Ensure that all work activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner
• Have the experience to solve unplanned complications.
• Ensure that all installation work is performed in accordance with industry and company standards.
• To be professional at all times and carry out all work to the highest standards.

Requirements:

• 7 - 10 years experience in all aspects of landscape construction.
• Knowledge and experience with large landscape machinery (Excavator, tractor, dump truck operation etc)
• Knowledge of establishing levels and grades.
• Knowledge and experience of carpentry, including Pergolas and wooden structures.
• Knowledge and experience building dry stack natural stone walls.
• Hold current valid NH drivers license.
• Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment.
• Ability to work well with landscape team and communication skills with clients.
• Punctual, conscientious and dependable.
• Job type: Full time March > November, 5 days per week overtime when needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 per hour rising to $35.00 after 6 month review.

Full job description

James Brewer Garden Design was established in England 1995. We plan and create all of our projects ‘in house’, sub contracting just irrigation. Our unique English gardens and approach to their design have established us as the premium choice for new garden projects in the Dover, Seacoast and Lakes region of NH. As we continue to grow we are looking for an experience addition to our team. A skilled landscaper between 25 and 35 years old, motivated, positive, has a personality that will compliment the team and help us continue to grow.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

To carry out, oversee, help to coordinate and communicate all activities related to the projects we are landscaping.

This includes but is not limited to the following:

· To constantly strive for high quality implementation of all aspects of landscape construction.

. Be aware of time management and use your knowledge to oversee / guide the team where needed.

· Coordination of all materials, crew, equipment, and subcontractors where required to produce a quality job and to maximise efficiency.

· Review plans as a group prior to estimates / construction.

· Communicate with the JBGD management team regarding organisation of crew, help with ordering materials, equipment needs per project.

· Approve timesheets, and communicate updates with projects.

· Communication with the install crew and the client.

· Create and communicate via email weekly progress to JBGD management regarding all projects.

· Ensure both you, the crew and sub contractors are correctly representing the company and following company policies.

Goals and Objectives: Ensure quality control. Maintain schedule, budget, and high level of construction to ensure profitability. Be motivated help crew to develop skills at all levels. Be aware of schedules, and budgets to deliver a high quality project on time and within budget limits. Maintain a high level of communication at all times.

Education and Experience: Minimum 7-10 years experience working on residential projects of all sizes and complexity in New England. Bachelors degree, certifications or course studies in or related to landscape construction are not essential, I put more value in experience, your previous track history and your personality.
