Active, Innovative Long-Term Care Community Seeks Dynamic, Caring Dieatry Technician

As a 96-bed community for adults with multiple sclerosis and other advanced neurological disorders, The Boston Home's population is younger and more stable than many care facilities, with residents often joining the community in mid-life and residing for 20 years.

The primary responsibilities of the Diet Tech include:
*Seeing residents on a daily basis to assist with menu choices
* Meeting with new admissions to collect food preferences
* Organizing meal tickets and entering accurate dietary data in computer
* Ensuring that residents have proper adaptive equipment for meals
* Effective communication with nursing department and other dietary staff regarding meal changes or delivery times
* Overseeing temperature sheets and sanitizer logs
* Assisting dietary aides when necessary and overseeing the department in the absence of the Food Services Director.
Requirements:
* A basic understanding of therapeutic diets and restrictions
* Previous dietary experience in a healthcare facility
* Basic computer skills, preferably with a dietary software program
