LifeBUILDERS Detroit is Hiring an Office Administrator Near Detroit, MI

This is a part-time position that would be of the highest interest to someone looking to contribute to a passionate team of devoted followers of Jesus Christ. The team is committed to Reclaim the community from blight and abandonment and its affects, Rebuild the community by restoring homes and parks creating a strong sense of community and Empowering the youth with opportunities to be together, learn about Jesus and develop life and job skills for a better future.

The Organization

LifeBUILDERS is a 501C 3 faith-based non-profit community development organization. The mission is to bring life and hope to an under resourced community on the east side of Detroit known as Regent Park. The organization has been in existence for nearly 20 years. The organization is one of a very few ministries that has widely impacted an entire community in the name of Jesus Christ to just a great extent. Job Summary:

The Administrative Clerk performs a variety of clerical, recordkeeping, and service related tasks to assist with the efficient operation of LifeBUILDERS.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Greets and direct visitors

· Answer phone calls and emails. Responsible for all inbound communication.

· Performs data entry and filing tasks for accounts payable, accounts receivable, general operations, and ministerial programs

· Communicate with vendors and constituents as appropriate in support of ongoing projects.

Qualifications, Skills and Gifts

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

· Ability to type at least 50 wpm.

· Ability to proofread

· Basic understanding of office equipment

· Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing.

· Ability to organize and prioritize work.

Education and Experience:

· High School graduate

· 1 Year of clerical or admin work experience

Physical Requirements

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

Spiritual:

· A strong and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ

· An expressed call or draw to urban/ministry work within the inner-city

Character:

· Personal integrity, humility, and self-motivation.

· Great attitude and positive spirit

· Mature, responsible, and has a teachable spirit

· Must have a professional working attitude, and ability to collaborate with a team

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 32 per week

Schedule:

  • 4 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

  • Microsoft Office: 1 year (Required)
  • Administrative experience: 1 year (Preferred)

Ability to Commute:

  • Detroit, MI (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

  • Detroit, MI: Relocate before starting work (Required)
