“Surgical Assistant” Job description

Need a change? Heard of 3D printing? Robotics is Oral surgery? We are looking for a mature team player that are ready to work immediately in one of the most advanced oral surgery practices in the nation, pioneering in using robotics to do oral surgery. Need great attention to detail in providing direct and indirect patient care. This is for a full-time position, with the possibility of working at multiple locations. Although most oral surgical offices are similar, we will help familiarize you to our systems. We will match anyone else’s benefits if you meet our standards!

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operatories, the surgical trays by selecting and setting up the instruments and the needed materials
• Sterilize instruments according to CDC and OSHA regulations.
• Prep the patients for surgery.
• Assist during surgery
• Provide pre, post-operative instructions
• Schedule appointments
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Undertake dental lab tasks, i.e., intraoral scanning, impressions, making of Essex retainer.
• Maintain the inventory and place orders.

Skills

• Proven experience as surgical / dental assistant
• Knowledge of surgical instruments and sterilization methods
• Common treatments include teeth extraction, bone grafting, placement of dental implant with or without guides and YOMI robot, removal of cyst/tumors and so forth
• Understanding of health & safety regulations
• Good computer skills
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Attention to detail - which means staying off your personal phones!
• Well-organized and reliable
• High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is required
• Additional certification or training is a plus, such as OMSA
