Pinnacle HealthCare is Hiring a Registered Nurse (Urgent Care), PRN Near Crown Point, IN

Providesadministrative and clinical assistance to Physicians and/or PhysicianAssistants, Nurse Practitioners in the examination and treatment of patients inthe Clinic and Urgent Care Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES are as follows: although this is not an all-inclusivelist and additional duties may be added as necessary to meet the needs of theorganization.To perform this jobsuccessfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty.

Establishes acompassionate environment acknowledging and attending to physiologicaland psychological needs.

Assures quality care and maintains patient confidence by continualawareness and promptly attending to patients’ comfort and safety needs.

Educates patients on proceduresand treatments to gain cooperation, understanding and allay apprehension.

Examsand assesses the condition of the patient by taking temperature, pulse, bloodpressure and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal.

Collect information from the patients to be seen regarding medical insurance details, medical records, identification and other pre treatment formalities.

Use information to complete registration, pre-authorizations,referrals, etc.

 

Gathers information from patients, including their healthhistory and how they are currently feeling and documents on patients’ chart.

Assist Physicians and other nurses in performing tests andprocedures.

Observespatient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisoror Physician of patient’s condition and reactions to drugs, treatment andsignificant incidents.

May give enemas, monitor catheters, and dress wounds.

Respondsto life savings situations based upon nursing standards, policies, proceduresand protocol.

Collects samples, such as urine, blood, and sputum, frompatients for testing and performs routine waived laboratory testing on sampleswith appropriate training and competencies.

Supports the hospitals medical supply system; followsprocedures for patient charge items.

 

After the medicines and injections are prescribed by thephysician, prepares and administers medication, orally or by subcutaneous or inter muscular injection, noting on patients' chart.

Educates patients on discharge instruction.

Requirements

Education/Experience

Graduate from an accredited nursing program and successfullypass the national licensing examination.

Preferred Education/Experience

Bachelor of Science degree in nursing (BSN). Two (2) or moreyears hospital staff nursing experience.

Credentials

This section identifies thespecialized type of licensures, registration, or certification required by thefacility.

Current Registered Nurse licensures by the State of Indianaand Healthcare BLS certification.

Preferred Credentials

This section identifies theideal level we seek for recruiting candidates for the position.

ACLS, TB and IV certification (orwilling to obtain within department guidelines).

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Read, write and speak in the English language tosuccessfully perform the essential duties of this position.

Computer-literate to perform successfully the essential duties of this position.

Mathematical ability to calculate figures and amountsrelated to proportions, percentages, and volume for medication dosages, etc.

Physical and mental stamina to stand continually and walk; work with constant demands, challenges and difficult circumstances.

Ability to multi-task, work with numerous interruptions andwillingness to assess and change priorities.

Pinnacle Hospital offers a bountiful array of insurance benefits to our regular staff members who have been offered and continue to work a full-time position sixty (60) or more hours per bi-weekly pay. Insurance benefits become available on the first (1st) day of the month after sixty days of full-time employment.

Pinnacle Hospital also offers a generous Paid Time Off program to our regular staff members who have been offered and continue to work a minimum of forty-eight (48) or more hours per bi-weekly pay. It starts to accrue on the first day of employment and is available after completing the ninety (90) day introductory period
