Family Support Worker (Recruiter for Foster Parents)- Sign on Bonus up to $1500
Alliance Human Services, Inc. has an exciting full-time opportunity for an experienced Family Support Worker (Recruiter) to join our not-for-profit agency to work to recruit and certify foster parents who are appropriate for Alliance Human Service, Inc.'s foster care services throughout the State of Rhode Island. The candidate must be able to solve problems, make clinically sound decisions, inspire confidence, and facilitate communication. A bilingual candidate is helpful.
Summary
Under the direction of the Program Director, the Recruiter is responsible with assisting to develop activities that ensure adherence to all applicable regulations and policies. Other critical duties include recruitment and certification of foster parents who are appropriate for Alliance Human Services, Inc.’s foster care services, monitoring and maintaining certification compliance as defined by Alliance Human Services’ standards and regulatory requirements.
Major Responsibilities of the Recruiter:
Recruitment & Initial Certification Responsibilities:
· Certify 12 new, viable foster homes per year.
· Under the direction and supervision of the Program Director, certify viable, therapeutic foster homes by conducting home studies, pre-service training, unannounced home visits, and other application requirements, including conducting home inspections, assessing for safety and appropriateness for therapeutic client care.
· Conduct required inspections, home visits, and all documentation necessary to write certification home study as required.
· Document all activities and interactions involving potential families, in the Child Trax data base system within the established time frames, meeting all internal and external requirements.
· Development of recruitment and marketing plans that will attract quality foster families, including the development of on-going recruitment and marketing strategies, which meets the fluid needs of the program. This includes speaking engagements, promotional tables at conference events, and other related methods. It also includes the development of foster family retention plans.
· Records and maintains the information and statistics necessary to analyze the effectiveness of various recruitment efforts
· Cultivates an active network of foster parents, including respite care providers, and coordinates support and adjunct activities that fosters a sense of community within the service pool.
Foster Home Maintenance & Compliance Responsibilities:
· Participate in pre-placement and placement activities, including assisting with matching a client to a specific Alliance foster family home, who will be able to meet that client’s individual needs.
· Document all activities and interactions involving foster families, in the Child Trax data base system within the established time frames, meeting all internal and external requirements.
· Maintain current and complete client and foster parent records and reports in accordance with corporate and regulatory standards. All records must pass internal and external audits.
· Maintain knowledge of foster family care standards and practices and ensure compliance with state standards, as well as all Alliance Policies and other contractual and accreditation bodies.
· Conduct required inspections, home visits, and all documentation necessary to write re-certification home study as required.
· Maintain documentation on foster home/parent compliance violations, investigations, and complaints in the file and Child Trax.
Foster Parent Training Responsibilities:
· Assist in the development of foster families’ skills by recommending training and education to enhance their skill set, both administrative and clinical in nature. Recommend resources both internally and in the community to assist with development.
· Conduct foster parent orientations, pre-service trainings for potential foster parents, and continuing education sessions for foster parents.
· Provide the foster parent with support, training and education, so that they can provide quality therapeutic care for clients.
· Assist with the development of the annual training calendar for foster parents, ensuring CARF compliant.
· Ensure training that is provided includes current and best practices, is trauma informed as relevant, and meets the changing needs of the families and clients.
Other Responsibilities:
· As required by the Program, participate in on-call rotation, answering and responding to all calls/texts/emails, handling the situation as the incident requires, and completing all corresponding documentation in timeframes required.
· Ensure information gathered and communicated is current and accurate as it pertains to the situation.
· Facilitate, and implement all necessary interventions and services involving incidents, both received from the on-call rotation or from foster parents directly, as required.
· Attend scheduled meetings, providing input, advocacy, and follow up, as necessary.
· Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times, including any personal interactions and in all verbal and written communication, when representing Alliance Human Services, Inc.
· All other duties assigned
Education and/ or Experience:
In a related field of human services plus two years of experience in providing support services to foster families. Applicant must also meet additional coursework and experience requirements, including but not limited to, coursework and or experience working with children and families, minorities, child welfare, and child abuse identification and reporting.
