Job Summary: 

The Sourcing Manager is the liaison between the Buyers and agents/factories. This position is responsible for partnering closely with the Sourcing Director to select agents/factories, negotiate costs, and manage vendors.

Key Roles & Responsibilities: 

• Assist the Sourcing Director in developing the overall sourcing strategy by category
• Collaborate with design/product development/buyers for product development process 
• Clarify and communicate design specs and product engineering details, labeling and packaging instructions and other information to in country sourcing and/or vendors 
• Manage direct sourcing sample process
• Partner with agent resources, buyers, and planners to understand factory capacity requirements
• Provide insights to Buyers on cost / quality trade-off decisions to enable agent/factory selection
• Manage cost negotiations with agents / factories
• Partner with planning to optimize order flows/container utilization
• Partner closely with Sourcing Director and Buyers to select agents/factories and vendor allocation strategies
• Prepare bid packages to go direct or agents 
• Assist in onboarding new agents/factories 
• Identify cost improvement opportunities 
• Track, report and manage agent / factory performance; monitor vendor's production schedule and ensure on-time delivery 
• Escalate production issues to Buyers and work with Asia / agents / factories to correct them 
• Perform other duties assigned by manager

Qualifications & Competencies:

• 4-year related degree preferred
• Candidate must have a minimum of 5-7 years experience in international sourcing and/or buying, preferably within home goods, working directly with agents/factories
• Must have experience in managing sourcing professional in country
• Must be PC computer literate in Applications- Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, At Home ERP system a plus.
• Prior experience working in a US/European retail business model is a plus
• International travel required
