The Palmetto Club is searching for an experienced bookkeeper/accountant to assist the General Manager in controlling the financials for The Club. This individual will be responsible for posting all accounts receivable and payable to our proprietary club management software system. They will also be responsible for ensuring Club financial reports are correct and submitted properly in a timely manner.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintains records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions; ensure legal requirements compliance.
Develops system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts, defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
Assists with preparing payroll to input to our payroll specialist company.
Ensures Member statements are correct and sent out on the first of each month.
Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
Maintains historical records by filing documents.
Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
This is a full-time position ensuring that all documentation is properly handled. Hours are very flexible so long as work is completed in a timely manner. We currently offer dental insurance, short term disability, life insurance, and match up to 3% investment in an IRA. Paid time off is also rewarded annually beginning at five days for the first year of employment.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
CPA is a plus.
Previous bookkeeping experience required.
Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas.

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $18.00 - $22.00/hour.
