Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage all payroll processes and steps, ensuring accurate and timely payroll administration.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, staying updated with changes in these areas.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and irregularities and ensure the resolution of any employee inquiries and issues related to payroll.
- Audit and review payroll data to identify and correct discrepancies, providing detailed reports to management as necessary.
- Develop, maintain, and update payroll procedures and ensure adherence to established policies.
- Collaborate with HR and accounting teams, providing them with payroll information as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of end of year reports and statements.
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Proven experience as a payroll lead or similar role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of payroll tax laws and prevailing wage laws.
- Proficient with payroll software platforms.
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diversified team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Payroll certification like Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).
- Knowledge of multi-state payroll and payroll tax.
