    PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: To assist the principal in the operation of the instructional program and to provide educational leadership for the staff, the students and the community. These responsibilities include establishing a climate conducive to learning; defining roles and expectations for school staff; planning, coordinating and supervising all programs in the school and identifying needed modifications; and administering changes, which result from local and statewide decisions.
    Qualifications:
    • Must hold or be eligible for State of Delaware Certification as a School Principal/Assistant Principal
    • Master’s degree
    • Minimum of 5 years teaching experience in a secondary school

    Fringe Benefits: Twenty-four (24) days vacation per fiscal year; Life Insurance; Health Insurance; Benefit Stipend to assist with the cost of prescription, vision and/or dental insurance.

    PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
    To support the Principal with the following:
    • Organize, direct and evaluate the instructional program, both curricular and extracurricular, and implement new curricula consistent with the school’s educational objectives through cooperative planning with the staff, community, and central administration
    • Assist with the creation of a positive climate for learning, leveraging research and data-driven initiatives
    • Assist with the development of a high performing faculty and leadership team to achieve rapid and increased student achievement
    • Develop positive school and community relations, which include effective oral and written communications to a diverse stakeholder groups.
    • Establish and promote high standards and expectations for all students for academic performance.
    • Establish and promote high standards and expectations for all students and staff for developing and maintaining a positive school climate
    • Align school resources and prioritize activities to achieve maximum results based on vision and goals.
    • Provide leadership, which will ensure continuous improvement in measurable student performance and achievement.
    • Provide leadership and instructional coaching of staff in the area of student data analysis and designing and implementing interventions for low-performing students.
    • Implement training and professional development opportunities for instructional staff.
    • Conduct staff meetings that involve staff in the discussion of instructional programs that focus on student achievements, policy changes, potential problems, and resolution of existing problems.
    • Effectively utilize support personnel, both school and area based, in the delivery of services to students and teachers.
    • Communicate with local civic and service organizations to interpret and explain school policies, programs and needs, whenever possible.
    • Select professional and supporting services staff for the school.
    • Observe and evaluate school personnel as prescribed by the Department of Education.
    • Enforce a school discipline plan based on the Board-adopted Student Manual (Responsibilities, Expectations, Rights and Resources)
