Job Description:

  1. Review project blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements.
  2. Conduct on-site visits and assessments to gather relevant information for accurate cost estimation.
  3. Analyze project scope, materials, labor, and equipment requirements to develop comprehensive estimates.
  4. Research and evaluate suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
  5. Prepare detailed cost estimates, including material quantities, labor hours, equipment costs, and overhead expenses.
  6. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to refine estimates and develop cost-effective solutions.
  7. Present estimates to clients and stakeholders, explaining cost breakdowns and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
  8. Update and maintain cost databases, pricing models, and estimating software to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  9. Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and pricing fluctuations to inform cost estimation strategies.
  10. Participate in project kick-off meetings and provide ongoing support to project teams as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  2. Proven experience as an Estimator in the steel construction industry or a related field.
  3. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
  4. Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as Bluebeam, Planswift, or similar programs.
  5. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project requirements and data.
  6. Effective communication and negotiation skills to interact with clients, suppliers, and team members.
  7. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in cost estimation.
  8. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Understanding of safety regulations and practices in construction projects.
