Logistics Account Specialist

Summary of Role

TheLogistics Account Specialist is a customer facing role responsible for accountmanagement, directing transportation, and overseeing warehouse transactions forvarious Organic Logistics clients/partners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and resolve customer/partner transactions and inquiries regarding scheduling, pricing, inventory management, claims, OS&D, invoicing, etc. as requested.
  • Collect and complete timely and accurate transactional data from external customer's service orders and EDI systems into multiple internal systems to achieve supply chain goals and timelines.
  • Maintain customer inventories both internally and externally in multiple facilities, while also managing deadlines and schedules with individual customer set specifications.
  • Facilitate communication and transactional documentation with Transportation Management Services (TMS) and warehouse personnel in multiple facilities.
  • Support month-end close processes by managing cost control measures and overseeing billing.
  • Provide after hours on call support for OL clients, and forward calls appropriately.
  • Oversee assigned freight, from pickup to delivery, providing real-time information to all stakeholders.
  • Maintain excellent customer and CROPP employee interdepartmental relationships.

Additional Duties andResponsibilities

  • Record and maintain accurate ERP and TMS transactional data for locations, products, routes, and customers (BluJay, Red Prairie, Business Objects a plus).
  • Manage a diverse workload and client base with frequent interruptions and multiple internal and external requests to meet required timelines.
  • Resolve problems for carriers and clients using critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Develop and run daily/weekly reports on transactional volumes, delivery performance, costs, profitability, and inventory accuracy.
  • Ability to adapt to change in a positive manner to meet department goals and customer requirements and requests
  • Provide back-up to others within the department on a daily basis.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience in entering data with a high level of accuracy. Attention to detail is critical.
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
  • 3 years of related Supply Chain or Distribution work experience required and/or 2-4 year degree in logistics, supply chain, distribution, or related field.
  • Experience or ability to learn Transportation Management System, Supply Chain and/or Enterprise Resource Planning
  • Systems software is essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking, strategic problem solving, and analytical skills required.
  • Ability to work both independently and in team settings successfully in an environment of change.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
  • Highly productive with minimal guidance or supervision.
  • Customer service oriented, maintains a professional attitude with clients.
  • Strong problem solving, multi-tasking, conflict resolution, and analytical skills.
